This song is going to be stuck in my head for several days. Thanks Mac, and Mac's mom! However, I must confess to listening to this song, and several other Erasure tunes, fairly obsessively in my late teens.

Too Shy - Kajagoogoo

From our good friend Gay Brandon comes this gem from my formative years. I still like it, but I agree it definitely qualifies as a bad song. One thing I didn't realize about it until I started this post was how few lyrics there actually are - they only wrote like 6 words and just relied on their hair for people to like them.

I could write a whole post about their hair. Even the no-names in the band have their little blonde streaks and highlights. Why are Poison and Cinderella considered hair bands, when Kajagoogoo and their ilk predated them by years? This is a true Hair Band. In fact, let's put that in all caps: HAIR BAND. Just look at it flowing and shaking with their movements. Limahl's hair is tame compared to that bass player; he's got the big blonde frightwig thing going, as well as the braids and cornrows underneath. Plus, is he wearing a dress? No? I bet he wears dresses.

Usually the point of Bad Song Friday is lost on me
because I have a tendancy to start laughing at how
truly bad the song is, and therefore I enjoy the experience.
Eventually I start to like the song, too
